Christmas is the merriest of all seasons, and we come together to celebrate the true reason for the season. I am guessing that if we could all pool our Christmas wishes into one large MAGA hat, we would find that we would have one similar wish. That by next Christmas, our dear President Trump is once again President-elect Trump.
Before I dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly of the movement, I would like to bring to light the true blessings. The last two and a half years have had trying moments. More than I care to recall, but along with the horrors, there have been good memories. And with those good memories, have come incredible people.
Those beautiful souls have kept me going when I didn’t think I could withstand the turbulence. They reside at all levels of the movement from the names you would recognize at the top as MAGA celebrities to the grassroots that have never looked for recognition at the local levels. Within six months of my start in election integrity, I did experience a situation that changed my path. At the time, I didn’t see how I would recover from the impact, but two angels who will remain unnamed, saved me when they had no obligation to do so. Yes, I do believe God sends angels amongst us on earth, and these two men hide their wings very well. Even if one has a halo slightly crooked. I can remember the day like it was yesterday. I had felt more fulfilled in the few months that I worked for Arkansas than in the remaining time that I had to deal with drama and distractions. Some shenanigans in Arkansas along with mudslinging at the national level had its effect. My FOIA work and the push for audits in Arkansas ended in a blink of an eye. Two power players in the movement decided that I no longer served a purpose. The working relationship ended with them, but they also sought to end my working relationship with others. I felt like a failure, and I was convinced that my failure would end my tenure with one Patriot. But one of those kind souls wouldn’t let go. He kept calling and calling until I would answer his calls, and that day he pulled me off the ledge. Yes, my path changed that day, but God had a plan. And that plan included working for seven of the most amazing men that this movement has to offer. If it hadn’t been for that one soul, I would have quit that day. And as a result, the other man didn’t abandon me either. I never knew how to thank them for saving a nobody like me. It would have been easy to throw me to the wolves because at that moment in time, the drama was an unnecessary distraction to the work they did for the nation.
I always see Christmas as the time to thank those who impact your life. From mail carriers to friends to even those who do the jobs that nobody wants to claim. Last Christmas, my goal was to show those who took a chance on a feisty Irish/Cherokee/German girl with a touch of sarcasm and a lot of temper, how much they truly meant to myself as well as those they taught about election fraud and how to move towards having true integrity in our elections. I collected the pictures from their channels of their extended Patriot family and included some pictures I had taken on my own. The goal was to show them they were not alone. They had made so many sacrifices. They had sacrificed income, family, and even tranquility out of love for their country. These books sought to serve as a reminder of why they fight day in and day out. It also served as a reminder that they were not alone. Never forget those priceless memories that had been collected along the way. Never forget that they made a difference, and they gave hope to so many. They also reminded strangers that faith in almighty God will get us through the tough times, and for that, those two men deserved the world.
But the above story of loyalty is not an isolated incident. In two and a half years, I have counted my blessings. How many people can claim they shared a foxhole with a furry critter wearing a MAGA hat? How many people are blessed with photos in their inbox from the Montana mountains where God did some of his most beautiful handiwork? How many people are blessed to see Patriots fight in a dark blue state like Vermont? Or watch a reckoning occur in a bright red state like Kansas? Having a special someone adopt you as long lost granddaughter… And having random messages from the chats’ most devoted followers with their notes of encouragement, memes and uplifting words. Watching my partner in crime in organizing two events in the upper Midwest stand up to his liberal friends and neighbors showing that bravery and loyalty to your duly elected president are two attributes that go hand in hand and can be contagious to those who fight along your side. Some of my dearest friends have come from this chaotic movement. This holiday season is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior and to show gratitude for experiences. The good experiences which enhance your life and the nightmares which make you stronger in the face of adversity. Perhaps, the greatest lesson is knowing that everything, whether good or bad, happens for a reason. Friendships come and go, but God is a mainstay in your life forever.
